Attention October 2009 exam writers
Exam results have been mailed.
The pass rate on the NKE was 59%, with an average score of 72%. The pass rate on the NPPA was 86%, with an average score of 77%.
Manual rescores are available, should you feel that your score does not reflect your performance on the exam. If you wish to have your exam manually re-scored, please send a written request along with payment of $75 for the NPPA or $25 for the NKE to CCHRA at 150 Metcalfe Street, Suite 603, Ottawa ON K2P 1P1, attn: Professional Standards. For Ontario members, requests for manual re-scores need to be made to the Human Resources Professionals Association of Ontario’s Office of the Registrar at registrar@hrpa.ca.
Requests for manual rescores will be honoured until February 3, 2010.

New senior HR designation introduced in Ontario and Saskatchewan; Nova Scotia/PEI consulting members
Provincial associations in Ontario and Saskatchewan are introducing the Senior Human Resources Professional (SHRP) designation to recognize HR executives. Other provinces are considering a senior designation.

HRPAO introduces experience requirement
The Human Resources Professionals Association of Ontario has announced it is phasing out its use of the National Professional Practice Assessment® (NPPA). Effective June 1, 2009, candidates seeking certification by the Human Resources Professionals Association of Ontario must have three years of experience in HR at a professional level. To ease the transition, passing the NPPA will count towards fulfillment of the experience requirement until it is phased out after the May 2010 administration of the exam.

IMPORTANT CHANGE - NEW DEGREE REQUIREMENT AS OF JANUARY 1, 2011
As of January 1, 2011, CHRP Candidates – those who have passed the National Knowledge Exam® (NKE) - will require a minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in order to register for the National Professional Practice Assessment® (NPPA) and qualify for the CHRP designation.
In some provinces, the degree requirement varies, or additional requirements may be applicable.
